Water Sampling

Water Sampling and Analysis

Water is a vital component to oilfield operations. An understanding of the composition is critical in determining chemical needs and treatment programs. GeoKimika’s technicians can perform on-site sample collection and testing of critical water parameters.

Our state-of the-art laboratory has the capability to perform a complete water analysis to identify over 20 different properties. Reports include water parameters and scale modeling using industry accepted methods.

Rheology

Fluid rheology or viscosity plays a critical role in high viscosity friction reducer fluids. Our laboratories are equipped with viscometers and rheometers to evaluate fluid viscosity under various shear and temperature conditions. We can perform various tests including: Gel hydration, crosslink time, HPHT rheology, breaker profile, and viscoelasticity.

Friction Loop

Friction reducers are the main component in Slickwater fluids. The ability to effectively reduce frac pressures is critical to the success of a hydraulic fracturing operation. Products can be evaluated in a traditional laboratory or in the field. A friction loop is a great tool for product development and pre-job planning. We offer the only mobile friction loops in the field to monitor friction reducer performance on-site with field waters and chemicals.

Dynamic Scale Loop (DSL)

Scale inhibitors are widely used to control the deposition of scale in oilfield operations. . The ability to effectively control scale is critical to the long-term production of a well. Products can be evaluated in dynamic environment to simulate pressure and temperature conditions of a well.

Kill-studies

Bacteria in oilfield waters contribute to corrosion of equipment and/or the formation of H2S in the well. It is critical to implement proper disinfection programs to ensure the integrity of the well. We provide testing services to monitor biocide/oxidizer efficiency and to validate proper usage. Test capabilities include: Serial dilution bottles (Sulfate-reducing, acid-producing, and Iron Reducing Bacteria), ATP testing Microbial genetics – DNA.

Wet Sand Testing

Sand is an integral part of completions designs. We offer API 19C testing including Turbidity, Sand Sieve, and Acid solubility.

Other

We can offer a variety of testing services including, clay stabilization, surfactant wetting properties, oil recovery, and formation damage. Our testing capabilities continue to expand, for the most current list, contact us today.
